How To Create a Menu In WordPress

Multilevel Menus Creating

It helps to think of each menu item as a heading in a structured report document when preparing the structure of your menu. In a formal report, the headings of the main section (headings of level 1) are closest to the left of the page; the headings of the sub-section (headings of level 2) are indented slightly further to the right; any other headings of the sub-section (headings of level 3, 4, etc) within the same section are indented further to the right.

The WordPress menu editor allows you to use a simple ‘drag-and-drop’ interface to create multi-level menus. Drag the menu items up or down to adjust the menu’s display order. To create sub-levels within your menu, drag menu items left or right.

You need to position the ‘child’ under its ‘parent’ to make one menu item a subordinate of another and then drag it slightly to the right.

Log in to the Dashboard for WordPress.

Select the ‘Menus’ option to open the Menu Editor from the ‘Appearance’ menu on the left-hand side of the Dashboard.
At the top of the list, select Build a New Menu

Insert a name in the Menu Name box for your new menu.

Click the Menu Build icon.

It has now described your new custom menu.

You can add various types of links to your menu, which are separated into panes on the left side of the menu you are currently editing.

Locate an entitled Pages pane.

Select the View All link within this pane to show a list of all the pages currently published on your web.

Pick the pages you want to add by clicking on the checkbox next to the title of each page.

To add your selection(s) to the menu you built in the previous step, click the Add to Menu button at the bottom of this panel.

After you’ve added all the menu items you want, press the Save Menu tab.
